Gisele Bündchen surprised fans by returning to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which took place in Los Angeles on October 18. The model, who last walked the brand’s runway in 2006, appeared in a clip at the start of the show’s livestream.
Gisele Bündchen teases more appearances after her surprise Victoria’s Secret comeback
The first cameo video featured Bündchen wearing a pink lace lingerie set. Victoria’s Secret later shared the clip with its Instagram followers. The video aired shortly before Bella Hadid opened the show at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. In the clip, Bündchen looked into the camera and asked, “Are you ready for the show?”
Bündchen made another appearance at the end of the show after Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner took to the runway. She said in the video, “Wasn’t that amazing,” adding, “You are going to be seeing more of me real soon. Ciao!”
Bündchen first walked for Victoria’s Secret in 1999, when she was 19. She officially joined the lingerie brand in 2000 after signing a record $25 million contract. That same year, she modeled the $15 million Red Hot Fantasy Bra. The lingerie piece later earned a place in the Guinness World Records. It held the record for the most expensive lingerie ever created until 2006.
Bündchen discussed her years with Victoria’s Secret in her 2018 memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life. She wrote, as the Independent reported, “For the first five years, I felt comfortable modelling in lingerie, but as time went on, I felt less and less at ease being photographed walking the runway wearing just a bikini or a thong.” “I was at a different place in my life, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue working there,” she said.
The model announced her retirement from the fashion industry in 2015 following her last walk at Brazil Fashion Week.
