Prince Harry reveals that Prince Archie made an unexpected request to attend a school before starting classes. The Duke of Sussex shared that his son doesn’t like maths and wants to start school without it.
Prince Harry says Archie asked to attend a school without math before starting classes in Britain
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited charitable organizations in Nottingham. Many people gathered to talk to them, and he pointed to one of the students in uniform. Harry learned one of the students loved maths. He bent down to talk to students, saying, “Most people don’t like math,” before revealing something about Prince Archie.
He added, “My son turned around to me and said, ‘Can I go to a school that doesn’t do math?’ I said, ‘That doesn’t exist!’ And then he went to his new school. And on his first day, his first class, guess what it was? Math!” (via PEOPLE)
Previously, Harry revealed that he was interested in sports compared to academics during his time at school. He told Times, “Sport held me together. I was one of those kids at school who did not enjoy classroom work… If it wasn’t for the sports field and the amount of sports that were on offer, there’s no way I would have stayed in school.”
This marks the first joint appearance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following their return to the U.K. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet changed their schools two days into the term because of security concerns.
The royal couple’s spokesperson said, “The decision for the children to move schools was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements. The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family.”
They added that the decision to change schools is not a reflection on the school or the care their children have received. The royal children have reportedly settled in their new school.
