SAG-AFTRA (the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) is a major labor union in the United States. Almost all of Hollywood’s biggest and smallest stars are associated with it. However, Drake Bell has now spoken out against the organization. The actor reportedly criticized the foundation and urged people, “Do not become an actor.”

Recently, an X user named Obiscure Nick shared a post claiming that the American actor and musician had strongly criticized SAG-AFTRA. According to reports, Drake Bell criticized the foundation’s president, Sean Astin, after falling short of the health insurance eligibility requirements.

Bell said, “Do not become an actor. Do not join SAG. You can work for 35 years, and they still say [middle finger emoji]. SAG-AFTRA [president] Sean Astin, you’re doing a bang up job.”

“How about stop using actors to run things maybe? They literally just know how to say words in front of a camera,” he added.

The 40-year-old shared a screenshot of his SAG account on his Instagram Stories. The image showed that Bell had earned $17,480.53, falling short of the minimum threshold of $28,933.00. The website informed him that he needed to earn more than $11,000 to qualify for SAG-AFTRA Health Plan coverage.

For context, the All That star has previously called out Hollywood studios and major networks on a large scale. His most shocking criticism targeted Nickelodeon and the broader Hollywood child acting industry. Drake Bell has also spoken openly against several influential Hollywood figures, major stars, and the industry’s overall system.

For context, the Really Big Shrimp fame star has now openly expressed his anger toward SAG-AFTRA and its president, Sean Astin. He had not previously made such strong public statements against the union. However, several other Hollywood actors, both major and lesser-known, have previously spoken out against union and its Health Plan.
