Romance rumors surrounding Jennifer and Keith date back to their time as judges on American Idol in 2014. However, Lopez was dating dancer Casper Smart, while Urban was married at that time. Their dating rumors resurfaced recently, but a source said Urban is not Lopez’s type.
According to the Daily Mail, a source said, “Jen always seems to be in relationship rumors, but Keith isn’t her type. Jen and Keith are great friends from working together several years ago, and though they both have recently dealt with major break ups, it currently isn’t going to put them together romantically, at least.”
The insider suggests that the pair might reunite professionally.
According to the reports, Lopez said it would “dream come true” to collaborate with Urban and expressed interest in recording country music.
An insider added, “Jen has been interested in doing a Beyoncé and is looking to record some country songs and wanted to see how that would look, and she has been chatting with Keith to see if they would be able to work together on a few songs.”
A potential collaboration would reunite the singers professionally years after they worked together on American Idol. Since then, both have experienced major changes in their personal lives.
Urban’s divorce from Nicole Kidman was finalized in January 2026. Under their divorce settlement, Urban was granted 59 days with their daughters while Kidman had 306 days with them. Jennifer Lopez divorce from Ben Affleck was finalized in January 2025 after two years of their marriage.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Lopez said, “I’ll meet somebody somewhere one day if they’re good enough.” Lopez is willing to find love again; however, there is no confirmation that she and Urban are romantically involved.
