Lucy Hale Makes Drastic Confession About What She’d Do for Hollywood

Lucy Hale has revealed that she is ready to undergo dramatic transformations for acting opportunities. The “Pretty Little Liars” star discussed her relationship with beauty and confirmed that she would not hold back if a role required her to shave her head.

The actress spoke to People about her Grande Cosmetics campaign. The actress discussed her hair-styling journey, from a blunt bob to blonde hair with pink highlights.

“Whatever job I’m working on kind of dictates the hair,” Hale said. “If someone was like, ‘You gotta shave your hair,’ I would. If someone said, ‘You gotta go purple,’ I would. I’m not really attached to my hair in that way and I think it would be really fun.”

The actress was a fixture on “Pretty Little Liars,” playing Aria Montgomery for seven years. She explained how the character’s fashion choices helped her remain open to different styles.

“I think when I was chopping it, dyeing it…It’s interesting because now I look back and that was when I was like really working on myself as well,” she said. “So it’s almost like I was trying on different looks to figure out what I liked best. I think that might’ve been a projection on my part.”

Now, Hale says she feels more comfortable embracing her natural appearance.

“I feel like there was a big shift in my 30s,” she explained. “And I think it happens for everyone. You sink into your skin a little bit more. You have more of an identity. You have more self-acceptance. And I think because of the internal work I’ve done, I’m only more accepting of myself externally. So I do gravitate more towards a natural vibe these days.”

Hale is currently growing out her brunette hair. Though she misses her signature bob, the actress might be looking forward to experimenting with her hair again.

“I committed a year ago to growing out my hair, so I’m gonna do it for a little bit and then maybe chop it,” she said. “I do miss having short hair.”
