Sofía Vergara Seemingly Fires Back at Joe Manganiello’s Memoir Claims

Sofía Vergara appeared to respond to her ex-husband Joe Manganiello‘s upcoming memoir. She reposted a message about dealing with “narcissistic men.” The Modern Family star shared the post after Manganiello made several claims about their marriage in his book, Bloodlines. The memoir is scheduled for release on October 13.

Sofía Vergara reposts a warning about narcissistic men amid Joe Manganiello’s memoir controversy

The Instagram Story was originally shared by Vergara’s son, Manolo. It warned that narcissistic people may resent those who support them and portray them negatively. Manolo wrote, “Remember kids … it doesn’t matter how much you do for a [narcissist].” He further added, “They will resent you for it, and nothing will ever be enough, and they’ll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy.”

The graphic also listed alleged traits of narcissists, including craving superiority and acting like Peter Pan. As per Page Six, the previous evening, Vergara had reposted another message about self-awareness. She agreed with a post originally shared by Tom Brady that described the ability to laugh at oneself as a sign of intelligence.

Meanwhile, Manganiello’s memoir reportedly describes his marriage to Vergara as “devoid of any emotionality whatsoever.” He alleged that she refused to hug him during his serious autoimmune disease battle and “ridiculed” him over a dog he adopted while suicidal in 2019.

Manganiello says Bloodlines aims to correct false accounts of his life. He reportedly challenges Vergara’s 2024 explanation to Men’s Journal that their separation stemmed from disagreements over having children. “I didn’t want to be an old mom,” Vergara said, explaining that she did not believe having a child at that stage of her life was fair to the baby.

Manganiello, however, claims their IVF plans ended because of his health struggles and concerns about leaving Vergara with a child conceived using an egg donor who “wasn’t biologically hers.”

The couple married in November 2015 and finalized their divorce in February 2024. Manganiello is now engaged to Caitlin O’Connor, while Vergara is dating jewelry executive Douglas Chabbott.
