Dua Lipa and Callum Turner surprise Yankees superfan Laurence Leavy, who had no idea who they were
It was just a normal day at the ballpark for Dua Lipa and Callum Turner until they met Laurence Leavy at a Yankees playoff game at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 7. The couple happened to sit beside Leavy, who is a famous superfan.
As per Just Jared, Leavy had no idea who the newlywed couple were. He was unaware that they were famous figures in music and Hollywood. Leavy posted a selfie with them on X, explaining the encounter.
“So i had no idea who this couple were and they were so nice and friendly to everyone,” Leavy wrote. “I told them i know sports, not music nor movies. They recently got married in june in italy i think. I wish them 50 years or more of happiness.”
His post quickly attracted amused reactions from fans. One person joked, “Bro is just wandering the earth accidentally side-questing with A-list celebrities.” Another speculated, “So why did you switch seats with your friend to sit next to her? I was a couple of rows behind you.” A third flipped the script, writing, “They’re telling everyone they met Marlins Man.”
Leavy claimed that the game was special for Lipa. As it happens, this was her first time watching a baseball game at a stadium and also her first time eating a hot dog.
The sweet encounter came months after Lipa and Turner celebrated their wedding. Reportedly, the pair first married in London and later held a celebration in Sicily in June.
Their baseball date ended with disappointment for Yankees fans. The Tampa Bay Rays defeated New York 4-3, ending the Yankees’ playoff run.
