The Duchess of Edinburgh is the wife of the King’s youngest sibling, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh. Recently, a former royal butler claimed that Duchess Sophie has become a strong support system for the monarch.
Former royal butler says King Charles and Duchess Sophie have a ‘brother-sister-like relationship’
King Charles and his sister-in-law, Duchess Sophie, reportedly share a “brother-sister-like relationship.” As reported by GB News, Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, told them that the Duchess of Edinburgh remains a constant “favorite” within the royal institution. The former royal butler also described the Duchess as the “perfect royal.”
Furthermore, per the news outlet, Grant Harrold also went on to brand Duchess Sophie as the “next generation’s Princess Anne.” According to the former royal butler, the Duchess of Edinburgh will also be an irreplaceable help to Prince William.
The former butler explained, “Sophie is known as a trustworthy and hardworking member of the Royal Family, a reputation she’s earned through decades of hard work.” He claimed, “While she didn’t always get the brightest spotlight, she was always pushing for the causes she cared about and used her platform to raise awareness for important issues.”
Grant Harrold further told the publication that Duchess Sophie shared a very close bond with the late Queen Elizabeth. He claimed that when he met the Duchess in 1999, she had a solid relationship with the royal family.
