Ruby Rose is widely known for her acting roles, including as the first lesbian superhero to play Batwoman. However, her life in the spotlight was not always easy, as she faced several personal struggles. Now, she has opened up about one of them, revealing that she was accused of murder at 15.
Ruby Rose opens up about being wrongly accused of murder
Recently, the Australian actress appeared on the Off the Vine podcast with host Kaitlyn Bristowe, where the two discussed several topics related to her life on and off screen. During the conversation, Ruby Rose revealed that she was wrongly accused of murder.
The actress, who was 15 at the time, explained that she went outside with her friend to have a smoke near the play equipment. At the time, she thought she saw a doll on the playground slide.
Rose said, “My friend and I locked eyes and we started walking towards it. As we got close enough, we could tell this was a real human.”
“There was blood coming out of his ear, nose, mouth. It was very traumatic,” she added.
After that, Ruby Rose said that she picked up the child and brought him inside the house, where the adults began performing CPR on him. Because the boy was still breathing, the Batwoman star thought for a moment that she had saved his life. Then, an ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital.
Later, the actress explained that the boy “was brain dead for so long,” so the doctor took him off life support, and he died.
Later, the actress said that police arrived at Ruby Rose’s high school and questioned her about the boy’s death. During the questioning, the John Wick: Chapter 2 star began facing accusations, and she said she “was breaking down.”
The late child’s older brother witnessed the incident, which left him suffering from dissociative amnesia. Later, when he recovered his memory, he told the police that it had been a tragic accident. Rose said the brother’s account cleared her of suspicion. However, the 40-year-old said that despite this, the child’s mother still did not want her at the funeral.
