Jonathan Majors has made a surprising declaration about joining the cast of “Run Hide Fight: Infidels.”
The actor cited Jesus as his guide for the decision.
Jonathan Majors says he prayed before accepting his controversial role in Run Hide Fight: Infidels
Majors said that a higher force guided him in taking on a role in the movie. The former Marvel star revealed that he prayed daily on set. During an interview with Daily Wire’s Morning Wire, the actor said, “My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has been in my life my entire life.”
“I prayed about the role before I took it,” he revealed. He also said that he asked for guidance from the Lord and prayed to “let me hear, see, feel and know everything you need me to in order to play this role.”
The actor, whose mother is an ordained minister, grew up Methodist and Baptist.
However, the movie itself has drawn heavy criticism over what critics describe as far-right propaganda and Islamophobia. Majors played Clay Saunders, a retired Delta Force officer. He fought “Islamic terrorists” who seized a pro-Palestinian encampment at a liberal college. They also imposed Sharia law.
The movie has remained highly controversial because of some provocative scenes. In one such instance, Majors’ character claims Islam will conquer the West through immigration, women’s wombs and America’s freedoms.
The actor previously divulged that he saw the film as an opportunity to challenge himself. “I don’t really have the answers to this,” he recalled thinking. “So, this is something that I should engage in, you know, in order to grow.”
Majors also said that the military background of the character posed roadblocks. He researched Delta Force regiments and pushed through with training.
“I got to do my own stunts,” he said, before adding, “Sometimes not on purpose.”
Be that as it may, this movie marks Majors’ first film since his assault and harassment convictions ended his Marvel career in 2023.
