In an interview with Mirror, body language expert Inbaal Honigman analyzed Swift’s appearance on the red carpet. Honigman said her body language showed “what a focused and determined performer she is.”
The expert described Swift’s poses on the red carpet as “polished and pre-planned.” When photographers asked her to pose in a certain way, Honigman said Swift “won’t budge, a clear indication of how in charge Taylor is.”
An expert who spoke on behalf of Casino.ca said, “Her poses are polished and pre-planned. The press can scream for her to turn around or look at them until they’re hoarse. But Taylor sticks to her guns. She’s not even blinking at the hullabaloo.”
Swift won the VMAs’ inaugural Artist Director Honors award, which recognizes artists for their creativity behind the camera in music videos.
The remarks about her body language came after the Lover singer faced criticism over her overall appearance.
Honigman said, “While other stars listen out for instructions, modifying their poses at the request of photographers, Taylor won’t budge. This ability to control her body and switch off mentally is a clear indication of how in charge Taylor is.”
Swift wore a black-and-silver gown by Tamara Ralph and kept her look neutral.
Honigman added, “Every smile, every eye move, every time she crosses her legs or moves her arm for a photograph, is hers to decide and hers alone. It is not the specific moves that carry the message that this is Taylor’s world. But rather her ability to tune out anyone else’s requests.”
While body language experts described her as determined and in charge, online users criticized her overall look at the awards show.
