Miss Jamaica Makes Difficult Decision After Fall & Miss Universe Lawsuit

Gabriella Henry has not decided whether she will return to pageantry after her Miss Universe stage fall. The former Miss Jamaica is still recovering from her injuries. She has also filed a lawsuit against the Miss Universe Organization.

Gabrielle Henry addresses her pageant future after suing the Miss Universe Organization over her stage fall.

Henry fell from the stage during the Miss Universe preliminaries on November 19, 2025. She suffered serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. Her hospitalization lasted from November 19 through December 10, 2025. Henry has continued recovering while adjusting to changes caused by the Miss Universe stage fall.

She later filed the Gabrielle Henry lawsuit against the Miss Universe Organization. The lawsuit alleges negligence contributed to her fall and resulting injuries. Henry said her recovery remains ongoing. She explained that returning to pageantry is not something she can answer “right now.”

“I think it’s something that’s really at the back of my mind,” Henry told People. She said healing remains her current priority. “I am still going through that ongoing process of recovery,” she explained. Henry said sharing her experience has also become part of healing.

“And I think even sharing with [PEOPLE] is a part of that healing journey,” she added. Henry still recognizes the value of pageantry despite her experience. “I still think it’s a wonderful platform regarding the organization,” she said. She also plans to advocate for women interested in entering pageants.

Henry described pageantry as a positive part of her personal development. She said competing helped her overcome her naturally shy personality. “I was extremely shy, very introverted, very scared to share what I was thinking,” Henry recalled. She credited pageantry with helping her leave her comfort zone.

She called pageantry a “beautiful journey.” Henry also encouraged women to embrace opportunities for confidence and personal growth. However, Henry remains uncertain about competing again herself. “I will address that question at a later date, for sure,” she told People.

She continues maintaining friendships formed during her time competing. Henry said several former contestants also supported her during hospitalization. “They’ve also been quite empathetic,” she said. Henry recalled receiving messages from fellow contestants who were concerned about her.

For now, Miss Jamaica is focused on her recovery rather than making a final pageant decision. Her Gabrielle Henry fall continues to shape that difficult choice.
