Julia Stiles Gets Another Public Apology After Andy Cohen’s Latest Move

Julia Stiles has received another public apology after Andy Cohen walked back his criticism of her dancing. The Dancing With the Stars contestant addressed Cohen’s earlier comment during the show’s Sept. 16 premiere, and after she impressed with her quickstep, he apologized on Watch What Happens Live.

Now, Juilliard has also joined the apology tour after a separate mix-up involving Stiles and her Save the Last Dance character.

Juilliard apologizes to Julia Stiles after denying she attended the prestigious school

After Stiles spoke about the Juilliard mix-up in an exclusive E! interview, the prestigious school responded with a playful message. In a Sept. 17 TikTok video with her pro partner Ezra Sosa, Stiles read Juilliard’s note: “Dear Julia, with our apologies for the clerical error, your alumni file was found under the name Sarah Johnson.”

The school added, “We are so proud of you and cheering you and Ezra on.” It also joked about Save the Last Dance, where Stiles played Sarah Johnson, a character who attends Juilliard. “Remember, Dancing With the Stars ain’t no square dance,” the message read, “but we know you’ll dance circles, probably, around everyone else.”

Meanwhile, Stiles revealed that her “fans here at Juilliard” sent her and Sosa official alumni gear. She was particularly excited about the T-shirt, joking, “They know I love a crop top.” Juilliard also clarified that its original Sept. 3 post was not meant as a dig at Stiles and was referring to her fictional character instead.

Similarly, Cohen recently apologized after Stiles recalled his comment that she was “not the greatest dancer on the planet.” After her quickstep earned praise from the judges, including Derek Hough telling Cohen, “you can eat it,” Cohen called himself “Jackhole of the Day” on the show.

“Julia, I am so sorry,” he said. “I am the last person who should be giving anyone feedback on their dancing.” He later added, “Great job, Julia Stiles” and “You killed it tonight.”

As for Juilliard, Stiles ultimately confirmed the joke herself, saying, “Never went to Juilliard, it’s a fictional character, Sarah Johnson.” While her character attended the prestigious school in the movie, Stiles is now competing on Dancing With the Stars for a chance at the Mirrorball Trophy.
