Andy Cohen Walks Back His Julia Stiles Dig After This DWTS Moment

Andy Cohen is owning up to his past comments about Julia Stiles’ dancing. After Stiles called him out on Dancing With the Stars, the Bravo host apologized and called himself the “Jackhole of the Day” on Watch What Happens Live.

Before Stiles performed her quickstep to Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 on September 16, she revealed that a comment Cohen made last year had been “imprinted in her brain” and ultimately encouraged her to compete on DWTS. Stiles also called out the Bravo host, saying she stopped taking dance classes because people expected her to be this perfect dancer after playing a ballerina in the 2001 film Save the Last Dance. Last year, Cohen took a jab at Stiles’ dancing, questioning whether she was “the greatest dancer on the planet,” reports E! News.

Cohen discussed the matter on the September 16 episode of Watch What Happens Live, shortly after Stiles performed with her partner, Ezra Sosa. “Julia, I am so sorry. I am the last person who should be giving anyone feedback on their dancing. Case in point,” Cohen said while showing a clip of himself dancing at a Grateful Dead concert. He added, “Great job, Julia Stiles. You killed it tonight. You did amazing tonight; I know you’re going to have a great run.” And concluded by saying, “This diva gives all of you permission to flood my inbox with the ten things you hate about me.”

The routine featured a song that Parton had approved weeks before her death at age 80. Stiles and Sosa scored 18 out of 30 for their routine, with Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli each giving them a 6. The 10 Things I Hate About You star called her DWTS experience so far “exhilarating.” The reality television competition is currently airing its 35th season.
