Patrick Clancy Is Ready to Speak Out After Lindsay Clancy Mistrial

Patrick will sit down with CBS News correspondent Ross Douthat for the upcoming interview. 60 Minutes shared a short preview of their conversation on X on Sept. 16. The episode will air Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. Eastern on CBS and stream on Paramount+. This marks Patrick’s first interview since the trial ended in a mistrial.

Lindsay’s trial ended Sept. 4 after jurors could not reach a unanimous decision. She still has three murder charges relating to the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Lindsay admitted through her defense that she killed the children but pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. Her defense pointed to postpartum psychosis and overmedication, while prosecutors argued that she understood her actions.

Patrick testified during the trial and became emotional while talking about his children. Jurors later said they split 11-1 on whether Lindsay should receive an acquittal based on lack of criminal responsibility. Prosecutors have not said whether they will seek another trial. Lindsay remains at Tewksbury Hospital, and her next court hearing is set for Sept. 29.

The case began after the children died at the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Patrick had left the house to pick up an order before he returned and found his children and Lindsay. Lindsay later jumped from a second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt. Patrick has since remarried and lives in New York City, and his upcoming 60 Minutes appearance will bring him back into the public spotlight after the mistrial.
