According to The Express Tribune, Hayley Williams shouted “F–ICE” and “Free Palestine” during her concert. Her comments quickly spread online with fans supporting her fearless stance.

People have taken to a Reddit thread to voice their appreciation for the singer. One person wrote, “ugh she’s so cool. in the most complimentary way”. Another commented, “she just gained a follow people shouldnt be sacred to speak you cant gate keep free speech.“

A third person compared her to Ed Sheeran, who recently dropped Macklemore from his concert lineup, arguably for his pro-Palestine comments on stage. They wrote, “Balls of steel compared to that Ed Sheeran guy.” A fourth person shared similar feelings, “the way she is so bold like this sent me back on another Paramore kick……and I aint mad.”

Williams has long been an outspoken supporter of Palestinian rights and has repeatedly used her platform to voice her opinions. In recent times, she and Paramore joined the “No Music for Genocide” campaign. The latter urged artists to boycott performances in Israel. Consequently, she also geo-blocked part of their catalogue from Israel.

The singer is well-known for her activism and has previously commented on LGBTQ+ rights and the psychological impact of the Gaza situation. Williams has increasingly used live performances and public appearances to speak out on political and humanitarian issues. Her latest remarks come amid a broader trend of musicians addressing the ongoing war in Gaza and calling for Palestinian liberation during concerts and festival sets.

Recent months have seen multiple groups and artists expressing solidarity with Palestinians. The Strokes, Turnstile, and Wet Leg, among others, used their performances to motivate fans to stay engaged with global issues like Palestine.
