Big Brother Contestant Causes Outrage After Telling Housemate With No Limbs She ‘Scared’ Her

Big Brother UK is already delivering uncomfortable drama days into its 2026 season. Contestant Rochelle Rackham has sparked outrage inside the house after making a blunt admission to Charlotte Nott. Charlotte, 18, is a quadruple amputee who lost her hands and feet after meningitis as a child. Rochelle told her housemate she initially felt “scared” because Charlotte has no limbs.

The conversation began while Rochelle and Charlotte were getting ready in the bedroom. Rochelle asked, “How come you’ve never had arms?” Charlotte replied, “Cause I don’t need them.”

A few moments later, Rochelle admitted she felt ashamed. She then said people with no arms had always “freaked” her out.

Rochelle said seeing Charlotte initially made her think, “Oh my god.” However, she added that she no longer noticed her missing limbs and praised what Charlotte had accomplished.

Later, Charlotte repeated the conversation to several housemates. She explained that Rochelle had told her she was “quite scared” when they first met.

The reaction was immediate. Lynx responded, “What the f**k is that?” Meanwhile, Chelsey said Rochelle needed to “learn to shut her mouth.”

Rhianna also felt Rochelle had gone too far. She approached her directly about what she had said.

Rochelle, 57, is a housewife from Essex and the oldest housemate in this year’s cast. Before entering, she described herself as bossy and predicted she might clash with others.

The Big Brother controversy comes days after Charlotte’s launch-night entrance drew its own attention. A shoe problem forced her to remove her prosthetic legs before entering the house.

ITV later addressed the accessibility criticism. The network said it worked with Charlotte and a specialist access coordinator beforehand. It also called the shoe problem unforeseen.

Charlotte has said viewers may find ordinary things she does surprising, including cooking, dressing and doing her makeup.

Still, the latest Big Brother drama has created a very different kind of tension. Rochelle framed her comments as an admission of a past fear. Several housemates, however, clearly felt she crossed a line.

The fallout continues on ITV2 and ITVX.
