Jessel Taank’s Carolyn Bessette Question Pushes Carole Radziwill Too Far on RHONY

Jessel Taank sparked an uncomfortable moment while discussing Carolyn Bessette on RHONY. The conversation centered on Hulu’s Love Story and Bessette’s public image. Carole Radziwill appeared increasingly uncomfortable with Taank’s questions. The exchange became one of the episode’s more awkward moments.

Carole Radziwill recoiled as Jessel Taank questioned Carolyn Bessette’s personality on RHONY

During a cast brunch in the latest episode, Daisy Toye said she wanted to discuss Love Story. Taank quickly interrupted with a blunt question about Bessette. She asked whether Bessette “was a bitch?” The comment immediately changed the tone of the conversation.

Radziwill had a personal connection to Bessette through her late husband, Anthony Radziwill. Anthony was Bessette’s husband, John F. Kennedy Jr.‘s cousin and best friend. Radziwill responded by saying Bessette “was very fun” and “was a girl’s girl.” Her comments offered a different perspective from the fictional portrayal.

Taank later said Bessette appeared “aloof” in the Hulu series. Radziwill also revealed she had barely watched Love Story. She explained, “I watched about four minutes of it the other night with my best friend.” Radziwill added that the series was “too much” for her.

The conversation then shifted toward the “Carolyn Bessette summer” fashion trend. Taank asked Radziwill about the minimalist style inspired by Bessette. Radziwill responded, “Yeah, I don’t love that.” Taank then pointed to Radziwill’s black outfit during the brunch.

Radziwill later admitted in a confessional that she wanted to “strangle” Taank. Meanwhile, Taank described Radziwill as “a walking human vibe diffuser.” Erin Lichy also criticized Taank for failing to “read the frickin’ room.” The tense exchange showed how differently the women viewed the discussion.

Taank later addressed the moment on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She said she “genuinely felt really bad” about discussing the sensitive subject. Taank explained that Bessette was being celebrated for her style when the episode aired. She added, “It didn’t land.”

Taank also clarified why she used the word “bitch” while discussing Bessette. She said both women worked as fashion publicists and could relate to cold behavior. Her explanation gave more context to the controversial RHONY exchange. Still, Radziwill’s reaction highlighted the personal nature of the conversation.
