All’s Fair Season 2 will bring back more of the wild drama and bold dialogue. Sarah Paulson, who plays lawyer Carr Lane, says the new season is giving fans more of what they enjoyed. From the “worst TV drama ever” by some critics to the No. 1 show on Hulu, the series received major success. Despite being slammed, the negative reviews did not seem to affect the cast.
Sarah Paulson and Naomi Watts reveal how All’s Fair responded to its critical drubbing as the Hulu hit prepares to return
Naomi Watts, who plays Liberty Ronson, said the cast remained united despite the mixed reactions.
Watts tells Entertainment Weekly, “Yes, there were lots of conflicting pieces of information being thrown at it, at us, about what it was and how people felt.” She adds, “But, you know, at that point we were all so united. We were such a good, powerful group of friends that it didn’t matter. We were there for the ride.”
Moreover, Watts said the cast understood exactly what kind of show they were making. In fact, in her words, “We knew we weren’t making Shakespeare, you know?” She says, “We were doing something that was fun, hopefully. And it’s a form of escapism for people to just enjoy and devour.”
Meanwhile, for Season 2, Paulson says the show is leaning further into its outrageous style and giving its audience exactly what they want. Paulson says, “It’s a serve, I can tell you that. It’s a ball thrown way up high in the air.”
Similarly, Watts adds, “Ryan likes to feed the fans, and he’s done exactly that. We figured out what this was, what everyone wanted, and he’s doubled down in major ways.”
As for the new season, the main cast is returning. Viewers should expect the appearance of Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor and Matthew Noszka. Kim Kardashian, Watts, Paulson and Glenn Close will also be there. The new season will bring new allegiances, tested friendships and a shocking revelation that threatens Grant, Ronson & Greene.
Finally, Paulson summed up what viewers can expect from the new episodes: “If you liked it before, you’re gonna love it now.”
Season 2 of All’s Fair premieres in November.
