Meghan Markle has reportedly been eyeing the “Queen of the Cotswolds” title. However, there is allegedly a catch. The report follows the Duchess of Sussex’s striking return to the UK, alongside her husband, Prince Harry, and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
They moved back to Prince Harry’s homeland six years after stepping down from their roles as working royals and moving to their Montecito mansion in California. A recent official letter issued on behalf of King Charles has clarified the Sussex couple’s status as “private citizens” upon their UK return.
Meghan Markle ‘Queen of the Cotswolds’ title reportedly faces stiff competition
Meghan Markle has allegedly been looking to achieve the “Queen of the Cotswolds” title. However, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly has stiff competition when it comes to that particular title. As reported by the Daily Mail, there have been rumors that the Duchess of Sussex is all set to launch a British version of her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Nadine Dorries, the columnist for the publication, wrote that this version will include “home, family, food, entertaining and fashion, all wrapped up in an ethos of wellness.”
Furthermore, Nadine Dorries explained, “It could be a canny move on paper. We know that American tourists love the Cotswolds – which is where the Sussexes (currently staying with friends elsewhere) are expected to settle permanently.” The Daily Mail columnist then added, “And this part of the world is certainly a hot topic on Instagram.”
In the meantime, a source claimed that Meghan Markle “may not be a working royal, but she will make it her job to become queen of the Cotswolds.” According to the columnist, the Duchess of Sussex has a big competition. Carole Bamford, the originator and founder of Daylesford Organic, has already built her own luxury lifestyle empire there. “Daylesford has built up a loyal and passionate clientele around the globe. So, if a UK version of As Ever is Meghan’s intention, then she has a very big hill to climb,” Nadine Dorries explained.
