Kelsey Grammer says Donald Trump could be remembered as America’s best president
According to The Daily Mail, Grammer discussed Trump during an LBC interview. The interviewer asked whether Trump would be viewed as “one of America’s best presidents,” and the actor agreed. “I think in hindsight he probably will because nobody really stood up for America in quite some time in the presidency,” he said.
The 71-year-old actor also praised the president. He described Trump as a president “who loves America” and said he “doesn’t justify anything” when critics attack him.
“He says if somebody comes at him, if they come at him with hate, which they really have done, he just sends it right back at them,” Grammer said. “And I think that throws them off.”
During the interview, Grammer also said there was a time when he “would have voted Democrat, but some things have happened over the last 20 years that changed [his] mind about that.”
Several social media users criticized the actor, who portrayed Dr. Frasier Crane on screen. One person called Grammer “an example of how dependent some actors are on writers to put smart words in their mouths and make them seem intelligent.”
Another quipped, “Never confuse the actor with the character. Frasier was the smart one.” One commenter also said it was “crazy that Grammer made a career out of playing intelligent, eloquent characters.”
Another user challenged Grammer’s assessment of Trump by pointing to the administration’s policies and actions. The commenter argued that history would not necessarily view Trump’s presidency as positively as Grammer predicted.
Kelsey Grammer is one of Hollywood’s most prominent conservatives. He has long supported Republican candidates and spoken openly about his political views.
