Kate Middleton Makes Surprise Move to Be by Prince William’s Side

Kate Middleton made a surprise last minute appearance alongside Prince William at Everton’s stadium. The Princess of Wales joined him for an important mental health event in Liverpool. William had planned to attend the event alone. Her appearance marked a notable return for the couple after their summer break.

Kate joined William at Hill Dickinson Stadium to launch the new On Your Side toolkit. The Royal Foundation created the guide with the British Standards Institution and Chasing the Stigma. It helps people spot warning signs and feel more confident starting difficult conversations. The initiative launched on World Suicide Prevention Day and targets sports groups across the U.K.

William worked with sports stars including Harry Kane, George Russell, Alan Shearer, Sir Jason Kenny and Dame Laura Kenny on the project. Dame Kelly Holmes, Gabby Logan, Campbell Hatton and Jill Scott also attended the launch. William said sport can reach people who “may never walk through the door of a mental healthcare service.” He urged sporting organizations to ask, “What more can we do?”

Kate wore a light blue blazer and matching trousers with a white blouse for the event. William wore a navy suit and tie as the couple appeared together in Liverpool. Their outing came after King Charles clarified that Harry and Meghan remain non-working royals. Harry and Meghan had recently returned to Britain after living in the U.S.

William also wrote a foreword for the toolkit and shared his personal thoughts on suicide prevention. “Through my work on mental health, I have met people whose lives have been changed forever by suicide,” he wrote. Some lives have been saved because “someone stepped in to help,” he added. The toolkit encourages athletes, coaches, parents, officials and supporters to start honest conversations and help people find support.
