Rebel Wilson has joined thousands of travelers dealing with major disruption at London’s Heathrow Airport. The Pitch Perfect star documented the crowded terminals on Instagram as Britain’s air traffic control failure caused delays and cancellations for a second day.
Rebel Wilson was among travelers affected by a second day of disruption at London’s Heathrow Airport
Wilson shared clips from Heathrow on Sept. 9 after a technical failure at NATS, Britain’s air traffic control provider, disrupted flights across the country. In one video, she panned across long lines of passengers and sarcastically wrote, “Heathrow awesomeness.”

Meanwhile, another clip showed Wilson walking through the terminal looking tired. She captioned that update “escaping,” suggesting she had given up on flying out of Heathrow. However, she did not explain how she planned to continue her Rebel Wilson travel journey.
The Heathrow airport chaos began Sept. 8 when NATS experienced a problem with its flight processing system. As a result, the failure disrupted flights at Heathrow, Gatwick and other major U.K. airports.
Heathrow confirmed on Sept. 9 that flights were operating again. However, the airport warned passengers to expect “knock-on disruption” and urged travelers to check with their airlines before arriving.
The Associated Press reported that airlines canceled more than 1,750 flights during the wider U.K. disruption. Moreover, delays continued Wednesday across 15 airports as carriers worked through the backlog.
For Wilson, the disruption interrupted a busy stretch in Britain. In fact, she recently spent time in the U.K. for work, including filming her upcoming movie Girl Group.
Still, Wilson kept her Rebel Wilson Heathrow update brief and humorous rather than launching into a lengthy complaint. Instead, her “Heathrow awesomeness” caption captured the mood as crowds filled the terminal.
For now, Heathrow says operations are recovering. Yet Wilson’s travel headache shows how quickly one technical failure can turn an ordinary airport trip into a nightmare.
