Adam Levy recalls how Judge Judy accepted a district attorney’s office job on his behalf after he planned to spend a year as a ski instructor

Judge Judy’s son Adam Levy reveals his mother made a decision on his behalf when Suffolk County, N.Y., called his home. According to PEOPLE, Levy said, “She said, ‘Hi, this is Adam Levy’s mom. And yes, he’s going to take that job.’”

Adam recalled that Judy was not happy when he decided to take a year off and decline a job to become a ski instructor. When Suffolk County, N.Y., called to ask about the job, Judy picked up the call and accepted the job on his behalf.

Levy was reportedly living with Judy after he graduated from New York’s Hofstra Law School.  He followed his mother’s career into the legal field, but planned to take a year off to become a ski instructor.

Levy reportedly worked as a district attorney in Putnam County, N.Y., before he joined Tribunal Justice. Tribunal Justice is a Prime Video series that features a panel of judges.

Now, Levy wants to establish himself independently. Sheindlin said, “Maybe eight years ago he wasn’t ready. He’s ready now.”

Levy is married to Judge Judy’s law clerk Lori Leichtman, with whom he shares three children.

Leichtman says Levy is grateful to have his “tough cookie” mom. Levy flies regularly home to Wyoming while he shoots for Adam’s Law episodes in Stamford, Conn.  Years later, Levy feels grateful that his mother intervened that day.

Judith Sheindlin’s decision to take a job on Levy’s behalf changed his life from a possible ski instructor to a different career.
