Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK with their two kids – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The decision has sparked many questions about their decision after building a life in California. Now, a source claims Harry may have a deeper reason for wanting to be back in his home country.
Prince Harry’s UK return comes with desire ‘to rebuild a meaningful connection with Britain,’ claims source
Meghan’s former friend Nick Ede believes Harry’s return could be about reconnecting with Britain on a deeper level. “I think Harry has reached a point where he wants to rebuild a meaningful connection with Britain rather than simply return for occasional court cases or charity engagements,” Ede told The Express US on behalf of Cafe Casino.
He added that the UK “remains his home, his heritage and a huge part of his identity.” Harry and Meghan already visited the UK with their children in July. During that trip, they met with members of the Royal Family at Highgrove House, described by Buckingham Palace as a “private family occasion.” It was King Charles’ first meeting with Archie and Lilibet in over four years.
“Their recent family visit appears to have helped thaw relations and may have shown Harry and Meghan that spending time here is possible without automatically being drawn back into royal duties,” he said.
Ede also believes Harry’s position is different now. “They have established an independent life and no longer need every decision to be framed as either choosing the monarchy or rejecting it,” he explained.
The source suggested the move could also give Harry more opportunities to rebuild his relationship with his father. “A greater UK presence could be extremely positive for Harry’s relationship with his father,” Ede said. He added that reconciliation usually happens through “repeated, private and relatively ordinary contact.”
For Harry, the move could be about more than simply changing homes. It may give him a chance to reconnect with his British roots while building a new chapter with his family.
