Adults may still be waiting for a Season 3 renewal, but Malik Elassal already has a particular guest star in mind for a potential future season. The actor, who plays Samir in the FX comedy, wants New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to make a cameo.
Malik Elassal says he wants NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani to appear on FX’s Adults if it returns
The 30-year-old Canadian stand-up comedian and actor made the suggestion while appearing in a video from the top of the Empire State Building. He said, as stated by Deadline, “Dude, let’s get Zohran on the show… like we have his contact information. Well, he’s from Queens. He would just be like campaigning still, and then Anton’s [played by Owen Thiele] like, ‘Honey, you don’t have to do this. Get in here!’ And then we just have a night.” He further added, “And I feel like we could make this happen. We have mutuals. It’s crazy to have mutuals with the mayor.”
Adults first premiered on May 28, 2025. The comedy quickly returned for Season 2, which debuted on August 27. The Gen Z comedy follows five young flatmates in their twenties as they navigate adulthood while living together in Samir’s family home in Queens, New York City. The cast includes Lucy Freyer as Billie, Amita Rao as Issa, and Jack Innanen as Paul Baker.
After Season 2 came out, co-creator Rebecca Shaw told The Wrap that the team has many ideas. She said, “What is so fun, even from Season 1 to Season 2, is that there are so many stories that you couldn’t fit into the first eight episodes, and I think we feel the same way about this. There’s so many ideas that made us laugh, things that came up on set — ideas, jokes, backstories, combinations of characters, ways that they could all ricochet off of each other. That’s all just to say we’ve got a lot of stories in mind, and we’re ready to tell them as soon as anyone will let us.”
Season 2, which is now available to stream on Hulu, is already packed with star-studded cameos. Raven-Symoné, Zosia Mamet, Gaten Matarazzo, Isaac Cole Powell, Ben Marshall, and Jake Shane have all appeared in the current season. Julia Fox is also back after making a guest appearance in Season 1.
