Alix Earle revealed that she and her sister tested positive for an inherited BRCA gene mutation. The emotional revelation was captured in her new Netflix series, Earle Meets World, which debuted on September 4.
Alix Earle said cameras captured her family’s emotional reaction to their BRCA2 test results
The eight-episode series gives viewers a glimpse into Earle’s life beyond the TikTok screen, where she first rose to fame through her candid Get Ready With Me videos. Now, her new reality series offers a more personal look at her life, away from the spotlight of social media. Among the revelations was a life-changing health discovery.
Following their mother Alisa Maniaci’s breast cancer diagnosis, Alix and her younger sister, Ashtin, decided to get tested for the BRCA2 gene. The moment became emotional when genetic counselor Pankti Doshi revealed the results. However, Alix told Ashtin, as stated by E! News, “At least we’re in it together, and at least we know. And it’s such a privilege to be able to know and to have each other’s back.”
The mother, who shares her daughters with ex-husband Thomas ‘TJ Earle, also said, “Nothing’s happening to either of you, nor me.” She added by saying, “Listen, we’re all gonna be strong. We’re all gonna be fine. We all know that we can be on top of it now.”
Speaking about the diagnosis, Alix told the outlet at the premiere on September 1, “It was hard. Even the moments where I’m like, ‘I just want to go [be] alone and cry right now.'” The 25-year-old media personality said that while they were going through the experience, she didn’t think much about the cameras. Instead, her family focused on supporting one another and being there for each other. While the moment was difficult, she has no regrets about letting viewers see such a personal moment. “It’s a really powerful story, and I’m happy that we captured it,” she added.
