The Broadway League established a tradition last year, in which all Broadway theaters will dim their lights once a quarter in order to honor performers.
The tribute will honor theater figures, including the late Glen Hansard, Gina Ferrall, Clive Davis, Josh Grisetti, Louise Lasser, Anna Louizos, Seth Marquette, Anne Russell, James Walsh, Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, and Harold Wheeler.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, all marquees will dim their lights at the same time on September 8 at 6:45 p.m. ET.
Dolly Parton will be the subject of a Broadway musical about her life. She was co-writer and lead producer of the show Dolly: A True Original Musical. The show will feature her songs.
Parton also adapted 9 to 5: The Musical, a Tony-nominated score, which debuted on Broadway in 2009.
Tim Curry appeared on Broadway five times, including The Rocky Horror Show in 1975, Amadeus in 1980, and Spamalot in 2005. He will also be honored through a revival of The Rocky Horror Show.
Both Dolly Parton and Tim Curry died on August 25 at the age of 80. Both artists continue to be honored by their colleagues and fans globally.
