Newlywed Travis Kelce spoke about the reason he and Taylor Swift chose Madison Square Garden as their wedding venue. The NFL player said he chose the venue because it had inspired him since childhood and offered the privacy he wanted for the wedding.
Travis Kelce picked MSG for private, distraction-free vows
Travis Kelce appeared on brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast and explained why he and Taylor Swift chose Madison Square Garden for their wedding day. The footballer said about the ceremony: “It’s a night out we’ll never forget.”
He explained, “We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions. And we needed it to be a private feel. And MSG went above and beyond to give us that.”
According to People, Travis had revealed how he enjoyed getting married at MSG. “It’s kind of cool, you know, to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the Mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there … It was perfect,” he added at the time.
He also thanked their guests, saying, “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening and hearing that reflected in everybody’s stories of the night.”
Travis and Taylor married in an elaborate ceremony at the MSG on July 3. The former could not help flaunting his wedding ring in a close-up on the Sept 2 episode. The ring has an intricate crisscross pattern etched and wrapping around the band. It also features stunning details.
Since tying the knot two months ago, the couple have remained active in the public eye. Days after the ceremony, they attended the wedding of Travis’ teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster in California. Travis has been preparing for the new football season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
