Recently, 58-year-old Jamie Foxx appeared on Keke Palmer’s show, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, where he recalled the time he battled a stroke. He also spoke about how his daughter Corinne Foxx supported him during the difficult period, comparing her to Michael Corleone, the fictional character from The Godfather, because she fought alongside her father throughout his recovery.
Foxx said, “When you look at The Godfather and Michael Corleone is out with his girl on Christmas, he picks up the newspaper and sees that his father has been shot, and he says, ‘It doesn’t say if he’s alive,’ and he’s not really telling his girl what he’s reading.”
“Michael Corleone left and he went to that hospital, and he took over. He told one of the guys, ‘There were people coming here to do danger to my father. I need you to help me.’ That’s who she was,” he added
On Tuesday, August 25, the 58-year-old American actor and comedian discussed these moments on the show, and his eyes filled with tears as he recalled that difficult time.
It was on April 11, 2023, that Jamie Foxx suffered a stroke. Later, during his Netflix comedy show in December 2024, the Back in Action star revealed that the stroke happened because of a brain bleed. According to him, the incident also affected his memory for 20 days and left him unable to walk after the stroke. Fortunately, after a long treatment, he returned to work in January 2024.
