Don Diamont looked back on his three-year relationship with Gloria Loring, which began when the soap actor was around 22 or 23 and Loring was 16 years older.
The two met while working on Days of Our Lives in the 1980s. Loring was already a mother to Brennan and Robin Thicke, her sons with ex-husband Alan Thicke. Diamont said his relationship with Loring also helped him form a connection with her children.

Diamont discussed the relationship during a recent episode of the Soapy podcast.
“I met Gloria Loring [on Days of Our Lives], and Gloria and I got involved,” he said. “That was actually a really positive, wonderful thing to come out of it.”
Despite the Don Diamont age gap with Loring, the actor said becoming part of her family life did not feel uncomfortable. He credited his relationship with his own father for helping him understand the role he could play in Brennan and Robin’s lives.
Diamont said he was “there for them” and felt comfortable serving as a “positive male role model.” At the same time, Alan’s career was gaining momentum through Growing Pains.
Years later, Diamont learned that Robin remembered their relationship. A friend contacted him after Robin spoke about Diamont during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
The two later crossed paths unexpectedly at Nobu in Malibu, where Diamont was dining with his wife and children. Diamont said Robin recognized him before he could fully introduce himself.
“Before I could even get it out, he’s like, ‘Donald!’ And he throws his arms around me, and we just caught up,” Diamont recalled.
Diamont and Loring eventually ended their relationship in the mid-1980s. He later became known for playing Brad Carlton on The Young and the Restless and Bill Spencer Jr. on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Loring later married Christopher Beaumont in 1988. They divorced five years later, and she married Rene Lagler in 1994.
