Chris Brown’s Former Housekeeper Is Cleared to Go After His Tour Income

Chris Brown’s former housekeeper, Maria Avila, can now seek money from his tour earnings and royalties. She is trying to collect the $13 million judgment she won against him.

Chris Brown’s former housekeeper won the right to seek money from his tour earnings

The case dates back to a 2020 dog attack at Chris’ Los Angeles home, after which Avila sued the singer. Even though Chris denied wrongdoing, a jury found him liable and awarded Avila an eight-figure sum.

Now, a Los Angeles judge has granted Avila’s request to assign money Chris receives from royalties and tour income toward the judgment, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Some of the money the singer earns from his nationwide tour with Usher could therefore go toward the amount he owes.

Chris objected to Avila’s request, but the judge was not persuaded. It is still unclear whether the singer will ask the court to reconsider the decision or appeal the ruling.

The latest decision gives Avila the right to seek payment from income linked to Chris’ work. Her judgment stems from the dog attack case, which resulted in the $13 million award.

The case has now moved into the collection stage, with Avila looking to use Chris’ royalties and tour earnings to satisfy the judgment. Meanwhile, Chris’ next legal move remains unclear.
