Universal’s upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic has officially found its Dr. Dre. Marvel’s Runaways star Myles Bullock Be will play the legendary rapper. He joins Jonathan Daviss, who has been cast as Snoop Dogg.

The Hollywood Reporter reported on August 20 that Myles will play Dr. Dre in the upcoming film Snoop. Meanwhile, Jonathan was cast as Snoop Dogg last summer. Myles is currently filming Hulu’s upcoming Prison Break reboot, Prison Break: Black Creek. The actor will star as one of the series’ leads and is represented by Independent Artist Group and Liberman-Zerman Management.
As for the film itself, Deadline describes Snoop as a film that “looks at how Calvin Broadus Jr. entered the West Coast hip-hop scene.” The film follows his rise to fame as Snoop Doggy Dogg, his work with Dr. Dre at Death Row Records, and the success of his debut album, Doggystyle. It also explores how Snoop expanded his career into other areas. Thus, becoming a familiar face alongside figures such as Martha Stewart and Michael Phelps.
Beyond the film’s storyline, the 54-year-old rapper is one of the most influential voices and major figures in West Coast hip-hop. He has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide. He has also received 17 Grammy nominations and won an American Music Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
The casting news comes four years after the biopic was initially announced in 2022. Directed by Craig Brewer, the R-rated biopic will be released in theaters on August 6, 2027. Brian Grazer, Snoop Dogg, and Death Row Pictures President Sara Ramaker will produce the biopic. Additionally, it is currently set for a theatrical release alongside Disney’s The Bluey Movie and Black Bear’s Jason Statham Stole My Bike.
