Hunter Biden has spent much of his life in the public eye because of his family and his own struggles. Now, questions are being raised about whether he could follow his father, Joe Biden, into politics and eventually run for president. His mother, Jill Biden, has already shared what she would tell him if he chose to take that path.
Jill Biden says she would encourage Hunter Biden to run if he wanted the presidency
During an upcoming episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Jill Biden shared her answer, keeping it short. She said, “I would say, ‘Run.’ But then you take that how you want to.”
The 75-year-old former first lady then made it clear that she would support Hunter no matter what career path he chooses.
“Hunter’s gotta find his own path, and whatever he decides to do … I feel this is true his whole life, I feel it from all our kids, whatever they decide to do, our grandkids, our kids, we’ll support them,” Jill said.
She added that she gave Joe the same support when he was unsure about running for president.
She continued, “We will support them 100%, and I felt that same way about Joe. A lot of times when he thought about running for president and it was kind of unreal and daunting, I thought, ‘I believe in you and I will support you.’ And that’s how I feel about all my kids and grandkids.”
Jill’s comments come as Hunter has become more open about his past addiction and recovery on social media. She recently praised him for speaking honestly about his experiences.
“He can be so honest and say things other people won’t say, and feel comfortable with it because he’s been through it,” she said.
Jill also said she believes Hunter can use his difficult experiences to do something positive. “I do believe a lot of times that good things come from bad things, and I think now is Hunter’s time to shine,” Jill continued. “You know, he’s doing really good things.”
