Sam Asghari and Britney Spears are both prominent figures in their respective fields, and their relationship and subsequent separation also made plenty of headlines at the time. Although it has been quite some time since their separation, news involving the two continues to surface, and now the model has shared a simple message about his ex-wife.
Sam Asghari praised Britney Spears as pop royalty three years after their divorce
The Iranian-American actor recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio. During the interview, Sam Asghari discussed several topics, including his ex-wife Britney Spears. He also praised Spears while speaking with co-hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real.
Sam said, “The second that I realized what these songs meant, and why people resonated with [them] and why they were icons — like Michael Jackson, Madonna and her: the King of Pop, the Queen of Pop and the Princess of Pop — then I understood.”
“And it made me appreciate the music even more,” he added.
Later, Asghari continued, “[Spears] sort of created a blueprint that nobody after that has ever really accomplished. We see some artists now that are trying to do it, but it’s just not ever going to happen.”
As for Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s relationship timeline, the couple first met in October 2016 on the set of “Slumber Party,” where the Iran-born model was playing her co-star.
January 2017 was when the pop princess made their relationship official, sharing a photo with Sam on Instagram for the New Year.
In June 2021, Spears said she wanted to marry Asghari. She revealed that her conservatorship prevented her from marrying him and having a child with him. Asghari proposed to Spears in September of the same year, before she ended the legal arrangement in November 2021.
In April 2022, Britney Spears announced that she was pregnant, but sadly, she suffered a miscarriage the following month. Sam Asghari married the pop star princess in June 2022, but their marriage did not last long.
In August the following year, the 32-year-old model filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. In May 2024, Spears and Asghari reached an official divorce settlement, and the court finalized their divorce by December 2024.
