Lindsay Clancy’s parents are getting financial support as their daughter’s high-profile criminal trial continues in Massachusetts. Mike and Paula Musgrove have stayed close to Clancy throughout the case, which has brought years of travel and other expenses.
Now, a new fundraiser aims to help the couple recover some of those costs.
Mike and Paula Musgrove are seeking financial help as Lindsay Clancy’s trial continues
A GoFundMe titled The Musgrove Family Fund launched Aug. 11. Brandee Mulligan organized the campaign on behalf of Michael Musgrove. According to the fundraiser, Mike and Paula knew about the effort, agreed to accept the help and will decide how to use the money.
The campaign has a $2 million goal. Paula is retired, while Mike works as a photographer. The GoFundMe says they have spent years paying for travel, lodging and daily expenses while staying close to their daughter. They also moved from Connecticut to Massachusetts during the case.
The fundraiser names Mike and Paula as its beneficiaries, so donations will go directly to them. Moreover, the campaign says Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, knows about the effort. Her parents will control the money and decide how to spend it.
Meanwhile, the Massachusetts trial entered its fourth week on Aug. 17. Clancy faces first-degree murder charges in the 2023 deaths of her three children. She has pleaded not guilty.
The case has focused heavily on Clancy’s mental state. Her attorneys argue that severe postpartum psychosis impaired her at the time of the children’s deaths. Prosecutors, however, argue that she planned the killings.
Recent trial coverage also detailed text messages between Clancy and her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, from the day of the deaths. Testimony continues, and the court has not reached a verdict.
For now, the GoFundMe remains open as the Massachusetts trial continues.
