Bethenny Frankel‘s new cafe is facing violations. Soon after opening, the cafe received a “Warning Stop Work Order” notice amid concerns surrounding its launch.
Southampton officials said violations were being issued involving Bethenny Frankel’s Supermodel Café
Bethenny Frankel, 55, launched her Supermodel Café on Aug. 13. However, the launch ended with a yellow “Warning Stop Work Order” notice following concerns over the unusually large turnout on its first day.
A representative for Frankel told Us Weekly, “Today’s Supermodel Café launch drew an extraordinary turnout, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from the community.”
More than 700 people reportedly turned out for the opening, with chicken salad being the first item to sell out.
“The team is working cooperatively with local officials and taking the appropriate steps to address those concerns. The notice does not require the café to close, and there is no anticipated disruption to business. The café will operate during its regular daily hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m,” said Frankel’s spokesperson.
According to Newsday, the order was posted on the shop’s window. It stated that the cafe failed to comply with New York State and Southampton’s building codes and town ordinances.
Southampton Town Public Safety and Emergency Management Administrator Ryan Murphy said, “We’re also going to be issuing some violations and/or summonses from the Fire Marshal’s office as well for sidewalk obstructions and unpermitted signage too.” The administrator said the notices had already been issued before the opening, adding that the cafe “failed to take corrective action.”
Frankel also addressed the stop-work order on TikTok. She said, “We got a stop-work order at the cafe, but we don’t have to stop work. Evidently, it’s about construction, but we’re not doing construction. So, like I said, we are the Billy Joel of bagels; we play until we can’t play no more. But they’re letting us play.”
Bethenny Frankel’s Supermodel Café opened on Aug. 13, featuring food and snacks inspired by her viral social media recipes. The Hamptons pop-up remains open despite the notice.
