More than a month after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s lavish Madison Square Garden ceremony, guests are reportedly upset. The frustration is over the NDAs they signed. This comes after Travis recently called the wedding “the best night of my life” while opening up about the celebration. Now, some are wondering why the rules appear to be different for the bride and groom.
Attendees called out a double standard after Travis publicly discussed the private ceremony
The pop superstar and NFL player, both 36, tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony on July 3, officiated by comedian Adam Sandler. The couple exchanged vows in a 20-minute ceremony in front of 1,000 guests. The guest list featured A-listers including Gigi Hadid, Sabrina Carpenter, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, and Nelly.
During an August 12 press conference at the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp, Travis spoke about the wedding. He expressed his appreciation to everyone who attended and described the celebration as a “crazy night.”
However, some guests reportedly did not take the comments well. They said the agreements prevented them from sharing details about the wedding. One guest told Naughty But Nice, “So the bride and groom are allowed to talk about it, but we aren’t? It feels like there’s always one rule for Taylor and another for everyone else.”
Another pushed back against the criticism, arguing, “It’s Taylor and Travis’ wedding — of course they get to tell their own story.” The individual further added, “They’re the ones who got married. If they want to share memories from the night, that’s their choice. The NDA was there to protect their privacy, not silence the couple.”
Another guest said Taylor and Travis have the right to decide when to share details, photos or videos from their wedding. However, the guest added that the couple expects everyone else to remain silent as if they were never there.
Romance rumors surrounding Taylor and Travis began in summer 2023 after Travis mentioned her on his podcast, New Heights. On August 26, 2025, the singer announced her engagement. In an Instagram post, she shared a series of photos said to have been taken in the backyard of Kelce’s Kansas City home with a caption, “Your English teacher and gym teacher are getting married.”
