Ava Phillippe revealed she wanted to be a therapist to help kids with big feelings
Ava has been candid about her mental health and growing up with anxiety. Her past comments are now circulating ahead of World Mental Health Day, Us Weekly reports. Ava, who was born in 1999, has spent much of her life in the public eye. Over the years, she has used her platform to discuss mental health. During a 2023 Instagram Q&A, she shared that she once had a different career in mind.
She said, “Something you might not know about me is that I actually really wanted to be a therapist for a long time and work with kids and all their big feelings and challenges.” She credited “some amazing mental health professionals and therapists that truly changed my life” from her own childhood. She credited childhood therapists who had a lasting impact on her life.
She acknowledged that there is no one-size-fits-all solution but shared advice based on her own experience. She said, “Don’t invalidate your feelings. You have every right to feel however you do, even if it seems weird to others, & being hard on yourself won’t help you feel better or find a solution.” She also recommended grounding techniques, including taking a few deep breaths and using the five senses to stay present.
Ava has now teamed up with the Kids Mental Health Foundation on its Take Five campaign. The initiative encourages adults to spend five minutes checking in with the children in their lives. As per CinemaBlend, the 26-year-old made her TV acting debut on Doctor Odyssey in 2025. She later appeared in Ransom Canyon on Netflix. She also featured in Role Model’s Look At That Woman music video.
