Kaia Gerber Blasts the ‘Slut’ and ‘Greedy’ Labels Over Her Love Life

Kaia Gerber has spent much of her life in the spotlight. But she is no longer staying quiet about the criticism that has followed her relationships. In a candid new interview, the model and actress rejected the labels people have forced on her since her teenage years.

Kaia Gerber pushes back against the judgment surrounding her love life

Speaking to Vogue for its September cover story, Gerber reflected on growing up under constant public scrutiny. She discussed her nearly two-year relationship with actor Lewis Pullman. During the interview, she explained that public judgment over her dating history has been one of the most difficult parts of fame.

“There are so few things you get to protect as a famous person, and being defined by who you date when you’re 18 is something I find challenging,” Gerber said. She added that she has been labeled in “quite misogynistic” ways, including being called a “serial dater,” a “slut” and “greedy.”

The actress shared that her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, has often offered simple relationship advice: “Just don’t make the same mistake twice.” Gerber said she has taken that lesson to heart. She believes the ultimate goal is to remain the same person regardless of whether it’s in a romantic relationship, with friends, or at work.

Gerber also described her romance with Pullman as the healthiest and most mature relationship she has experienced. She said she finally feels like she can be herself instead of changing to fit someone else’s expectations. The couple has been together for nearly two years, and relationship speculation has continued to grow in recent months. As previously reported, sources have even suggested the pair could become engaged in the future.

Elsewhere in the interview, Gerber opened up about years of public commentary surrounding her appearance. She admitted she struggled with disordered eating and said constant criticism about her body only made those challenges harder. Rather than helping, she said negative remarks never improve someone’s mental health.

The model also addressed being labeled a “nepo baby.” She acknowledged that she has benefited from her famous family while insisting it has motivated her to work even harder. She explained that she wants audiences to judge her based on her performances rather than her last name.

Gerber recently shared her Vogue September cover on Instagram after sitting down for the revealing interview. The actress has continued balancing her growing acting career with modeling. Most recently, she made headlines for her playful comments about Pullman and her headline-making fashion choices.
