Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son, Tyler Boebert, has been arrested and is facing multiple felony charges. The 21-year-old is facing charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a child in Colorado.
Tyler Boebert is facing multiple felony counts in Colorado just weeks before his upcoming sentencing in separate criminal cases
According to People, authorities arrested Tyler in Garfield County on August 9. Prosecutors charged him with child sexual exploitation to induce or entice, sexual exploitation of a child, possession with intent, sexual exploitation of a child involving video, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Records list the offense date as January 1, 2024. He posted a $10,000 bond and will return to court on August 19.
Tyler, the eldest of Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert’s four sons with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, has faced legal trouble before. Police arrested him in February 2024 in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and credit card thefts in Rifle, KOAA News5 reports.
He will appear for sentencing in Weld County on September 4 in connection with a 2025 child abuse case. He pleaded guilty to one count of negligence without injury, and prosecutors dismissed a second charge.
In a statement to KRDO13, his mother, Lauren, said, “I love my son. We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”
She was first elected to the U.S. House in 2021. She went on to serve two terms representing Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, covering Pueblo and the Western Slope.
