Brooke Shields showed she can handle playful insults with confidence and humor. In a new TikTok video, the 61-year-old model addressed comments about her appearance. Her daughter, Grier, asked her to join a viral video trend. Shields responded to each joke with a quick comeback.
Brooke Shields smoothly fired back with hilarious comebacks when daughter poked fun at her gray hair and wrinkles
Grier started by telling her mother, “You have a lot of gray hairs.” Shields quickly replied, “It’s a sign of maturity.” When Grier joked about her wrinkles, Shields said, “I’m worried about the world because it’s [inhabited] by people like you.” Grier also joked about her mom’s personality.
Shields responded to one comment by saying, “Well, I’m really famous so seems to have worked out okay for me.” She also said, “My career has lasted over 60 years, so I’m doing something right.” Shields shares Grier with her husband, Chris Henchy. The couple also has an older daughter, Rowan, 23.
Shields has spoken in the past about her close bond with her daughters. She also discussed parenting her daughters as they entered young adulthood. During an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends in March 2025, Shields talked about a moment involving Grier. She said Grier became “impatient” because Shields did not know her college friends or stay fully updated on her life.
Shields recalled telling Grier that she had spent years guiding her on food, clothing and friendships. “Now I’m meeting you, so you have got to give me a bit of a grace period so that I can get to know you as this young adult,” Shields said. She also suggested that they “reintroduce ourselves to each other” as she got to know Grier again. “Oh, okay,” replied Grier.
The mother-daughter bond has also included special celebrations. Last May, when Shields was 60, Rowan posted a tender birthday wish for her mom on social media. She called Shields “my role model, partner in crime, and best friend” and thanked her for always being her rock. The message revealed the strong relationship Shields has with both of her daughters.
