Dak Prescott has finally broken his silence on his and Sarah Jane Ramos’ engagement ending in March. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback described the breakup as an unfortunate situation. He said it had been difficult for everyone involved, especially the children. They share two daughters, Margaret Jane Rose, 2, and Aurora Rayne, 1.

Prescott made the comments on August 6, as reported by Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. The 33-year-old said, “There were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides. That was very unfortunate, unfortunate for me, but somebody who’s been in it and knows how to whatever to the media more to me and fortunate for her, but it’s kind of the life we live in.”
“Yeah, it was an unfortunate situation for obviously everybody. More importantly, the kids. And so for me, it’s just about making sure I’m there in every which way for them,” Prescott further narrated.
Prescott and Ramos first fueled romance speculation in September 2023 when Ramos attended the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants, according to Page Six. Ramos soon confirmed the romance by sharing a photo with Prescott, wearing a Dallas Cowboys jacket.
Shortly after making their relationship public, the couple announced in November 2023 that they were expecting their first child. The couple got engaged in October 2024. Two months later, they announced they were expecting their second child. Ramos gave birth to their second daughter on May 22, 2025. However, on March 7, 2026, reports surfaced that the pair had called off their engagement one month before their planned wedding in Italy.
A reportedly leaked email to the couple’s wedding guests revealed they had decided to call off their wedding, stating that the couple had made the difficult decision to cancel their wedding. They also apologized for the inconvenience. Ramos addressed speculation that a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement caused the split. While an insider later alleged to Page Six that Ramos had accused Prescott of ongoing infidelity before they parted ways.
