“The update from Paris is that I am actually back in London,” Driver began. She said that the accident happened a few days ago while she and Ben were driving through the French countryside.
The Good Will Hunting star also clarified that they were not responsible for the crash. “To be very clear, it was not our fault,” Driver said. “We were driving on a country road in the middle of France, and a car didn’t stop at an intersection and was going at speed, and we just T boned it.”
“But I’m going to heal,” she said. Driver also credited the car they were travelling in for saving their lives. According to her, the Kia EV2’s 360-degree airbags protected them during the crash.
“The reason I’m not dead, honestly, is the car that we were driving,” she said. Driver ended the video by thanking Kia and saying she wanted to celebrate the car that protected them. “I need to celebrate the car that saved us because we’ve got families and people who love us, and I’m so grateful to be alive,” she said, before adding, “Kia, you are amazing.”
In the caption, Driver also thanked the van driver who stopped to help before ambulances arrived. At the same time, she called out another driver who slowed down, looked at the crash scene, and drove away without stopping. She also admitted that her brain keeps replaying the accident and said crying has helped her process what happened.
The post drew an outpouring of support from fans. “Oh, Minnie Driver, I’m so glad you’re alive!” one user wrote. Another commented, “So glad you’re ok. Hope you’re feeling better soon!” A third added, “Everybody is sending you so much love and speedy recovery.”
