He has spent years needling one of the biggest names in hip-hop, and a new magazine sit-down gave him another opening. This time he offered a theory for why nobody around the mogul said anything.

50 Cent is not finished talking about Sean Diddy Combs. In a new 50 Cent GQ interview, Fif returned to his long-held suspicions about the Bad Boy Records founder, who is currently in prison following Mann Act violation convictions.
The rapper executive produced the Netflix docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” which centered on Combs last December. Naturally, the Emmy-nominated project came up in the conversation.
“It’s one of those things that whether you noticed or not, nobody said anything about any of this for all of these [years],” Fif told GQ. “These parties, these things that were going on. The entire time. And it’s like, I would always say … I’m not with that. I don’t like the boy’s vibes.”
He added that being around Combs made him uncomfortable, saying, “He just was a little more touchy.”
Then came the line driving the 50 Cent Diddy feud back into headlines. “He wasn’t in the closet,” Fif said. “He was, like, in the hallway where you could see that there’s something going on, but you just don’t know what exactly to say.”
Moreover, the Grammy winner offered a theory for the silence around the Diddy controversy. “And in hip-hop, it follows aspiration,” he continued. “As long as you’re financially in a spot where they aspire to you, they won’t be sure if they don’t like what your choices are. They’ll look and go, ‘Well, maybe.’ You know? So they didn’t say anything about it.”
Elsewhere in the interview, 50 Cent looked back on his “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” film and other roles. He also praised the doc’s director, Alexandria Stapleton.
Meanwhile, The Reckoning is up for three potential wins at this year’s Emmys. Those include Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program. If it takes the Outstanding Doc category, Fif himself will be getting a trophy.
