Sydney Towle’s family has shared a heartbreaking update on the influencer’s health. Her brother revealed that the 26-year-old has entered hospice care as she continues battling bile duct cancer. The update comes after thousands of followers closely followed Towle’s treatment journey through social media, where she remained hopeful despite her diagnosis.

According to People, Sydney’s brother, Austin Towle, shared the news in a TikTok post on Aug. 4. The post featured a photo of family and friends gathered around her bedside. “Sydney has been moved to hospice and is surrounded by her friends and family. Thank you all for your love and support,” the text on the image read. Austin echoed the message in the caption, thanking supporters for their continued prayers and encouragement.
Sydney has documented her journey with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of bile duct cancer, for nearly three years. She has built a following of more than 1.1 million on TikTok and is also active on Instagram, where she shares honest updates about her treatment and recovery.
In recent weeks, Sydney had been preparing for the next stage of a clinical trial involving tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy. She regularly posted videos from the hospital and remained optimistic about her treatment.
“People always ask why I’m so positive,” Sydney said in one of her recent TikTok videos. “Why would I not envision the best-case scenario?” She also admitted that comments predicting the worst were difficult to read. Still, she said she refused to let them take away her hope. “But then I’m like, why would I let that ruin my optimism or my hope?” she said. “Because ultimately, it’s my life.”
Sydney often reminded her followers that “miracles happen every day.” Earlier this year, she sought a second opinion after being advised to consider end-of-life care. Instead, she continued pursuing new treatment options. She also fulfilled one of her goals by walking the runway during Miami Swim Week. A show celebrating post-cancer bodies after receiving medical clearance to travel.
Her latest update has prompted an outpouring of support across social media as loved ones remain by her side during this stage of her journey.
