A fight over paperwork has stalled a legal battle rooted in a death that came just days before a wedding. One side says months of negotiation went nowhere, and now wants the court to step in.

Foo Fighters drummer Ilan Rubin is facing fresh accusations in his legal battle with Brandi Booth. She says he continues to block access to key financial records. Booth was engaged to his late business partner.
A newly filed motion obtained by RadarOnline.com shows Booth wants a California judge to order verified, code-compliant responses to her discovery requests. She calls his previous responses legally deficient. Those gaps, she says, have kept her from information central to her defense.
Rubin turned over hundreds of pages of documents, according to the motion. He did not organize them the way California discovery rules require. That made it nearly impossible to match specific records to specific requests, Booth argues. Her attorneys also accuse him of leaning on boilerplate objections. They say he never clarified whether certain documents would ever surface, and withheld a privilege log.
Booth contends the court must step in now. Months of negotiations produced no resolution, and she argues the alleged deficiencies have delayed the case for months.
The financial records at issue include financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and banking documents. Booth argues they are critical to determining the true financial condition of Q Drum. Rubin co-owned the company with the late Jeremy Berman.
Those documents could establish who made capital contributions and who carried responsibility for the debts. They could also show whether Berman rather than Rubin was primarily financing the company before his death.
The lawsuit stems from the fallout after Berman died in January 2023. He and Booth were scheduled to marry just days later. Court filings state Berman and Rubin co-owned Q Drum. Booth alleges Berman carried the business day to day for years as Rubin stepped back from it. Rubin then allegedly sought to hold her responsible for debts connected to the company.
Booth wants the court to order verified responses within 20 days. She is also seeking $4,500 in monetary sanctions. A hearing is set for November 18, 2026.
