Liam Payne’s final hours face renewed scrutiny after the Daily Mail obtained sworn statements from two sex workers who were with him at his Buenos Aires hotel on the day of his death. They alleged the former One Direction star argued over payment before leaving just over an hour before his fatal balcony fall. Payne died on Oct. 16, 2024, after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. He was 31. His death remains under investigation in Argentina, where authorities said toxicology results found cocaine, alcohol, and Klonopin in his system.
New Report Details Liam Payne’s Final Hours After Alleged Hotel Payment Dispute
According to the Daily Mail, the two sex workers, Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goiteas, told investigators they arrived at Payne’s hotel around 11:30 a.m. after he allegedly contacted one of them through WhatsApp. The women claimed Payne promised to pay them $5,000. However, he later attempted to pay through an international bank transfer instead of cash. The situation reportedly led to confusion and an argument.
The women alleged Payne drank whisky throughout the day and asked them to help him obtain drugs, which they said they refused to do. They also described the hotel room as being in disarray, claiming burned foil and other signs of alleged drug use were scattered throughout the room. During their time together, they said Payne briefly sang some of his own music before his mood changed.
According to the sworn statements, the disagreement escalated after the women again requested payment. They alleged Payne became frustrated, threw his Rolex against a wall, and punched the television several times. The women said they decided to leave. However, Payne later apologized, reportedly getting down on his knees and asking them to stay. They declined and left the hotel shortly before 4 p.m.
The report said CCTV footage later showed Payne continuing to behave erratically in the hotel lobby after the women departed. Hotel staff then helped carry him back to his room, and an employee called emergency services expressing concern for his safety because his room had a balcony. Payne died after falling from the balcony at approximately 5:07 p.m., around 67 minutes after the women left the hotel, according to the report.
The report also stated that the witnesses gave their statements under oath just hours after the incident. Prosecutors in Argentina continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death. Meanwhile, two men previously charged with allegedly supplying him with drugs have denied the allegations. Payne’s son, Bear, remains the singer’s lasting legacy.
