Eastwood claimed the co-star no longer wanted to work with another person connected to the production. He said he told the unnamed star to repay the investor if they planned to leave, but the person allegedly refused and walked away.
The actor called the situation “unbelievable” and criticized the person’s conduct in blunt terms. Eastwood also suggested that the co-star had significant creative ownership of the project, which made the departure harder for him to understand.
Page Six reported that Eastwood viewed the incident as part of a wider accountability problem in entertainment. He argued that many other industries would not tolerate behavior that Hollywood sometimes overlooks when a star becomes powerful.
