Dylan Sprouse’s old tweet about Jared Leto resurfaces amid the actor-musician’s latest sexual misconduct allegations. The latter is facing allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women. The reported incidents are said to have occurred between 2002 and 2016.
The resurfaced post references Jared Leto allegedly messaging young models
The former Suite Life of Zack & Cody star, who was 25 at the time, accused Leto, then 46, of contacting young models through direct messages. Around that time, Sprouse was newly dating Barbara Palvin. She was 24 at the time and is now his wife, reports Page Six.
The actor tweeted in May 2018, “Yo @JaredLeto now that you’ve slid into the dm’s of every female model aged 18-25, what would you say your success rate is?” The tweet also received a response from Guardians of the Galaxy and Superman director James Gunn, saying, “He starts at 18 on the Internet?” Although the reply no longer appears to be available, screenshots of Gunn’s reply still exist.
In the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, the outlet interviewed 10 women. Five of them alleged that Leto made sexual phone calls to them, with four claiming they were teenagers when the alleged incidents occurred, reports ABC News.
There are allegations that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl in a motel bathroom. He reportedly groomed a 16-year-old girl by making sexually explicit phone calls. Leto has been accused of statutory rape. The individual claims she was 17 when the alleged assault took place in California. According to the women, their reported encounters with Leto took place between 2002 and 2016, when he was in his 30s and 40s, states the BBC.
However, Leto, who has appeared in films like Suicide Squad and Masters of the Universe, has responded to the allegations. He has claimed, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false”.
